Image of the day: people's ideas
Post-it notes from Collingwood Days
How do we make housing less scarce and expensive?
Legalize housing:
Build more near SkyTrain
Allow small apartment buildings everywhere
More density - less sprawl
Make more apartments because most people live in apartments
Pre-fab housing
Reduce costs:
Use less expensive resources
Build more social housing:
Social and co-op housing
More co-op housing for mixed income
More social housing
Build for need, not for greed:
Limit investment in housing
No more high rise!
Density will not make things affordable, that is a lie told to us by developers
Stop speculators! More non-profit housing!
Housing enshrined as human right / houses and communities for living, not investment
Protect tenants:
Stop removing older buildings
Rent control - when someone moves, they shouldn’t be able to raise rent by $1,000!

We’ll have a booth at the Victoria Drive Summer Festival at Jones Park, Saturday August 9, 10 am to 5 pm. If you’re there, come by and say hi!

Canada is not broken—it is fragmented. Good people are trapped in siloed systems. We plan housing without schools, transit without healthcare, communities without connection.
In Collingwood, an eastside neighborhood in Vancouver, there's a school, Sir Guy Carleton, that the local school board attempted to close. The school board has land disposition plans near Joyce Skytrain. Does that make any sense to anybody?
