Image of the day: multiplex applications in Vancouver
49 applications so far
City Duo’s Multiplex Map and Tracker. Map of multiplex applications received so far by the city of Vancouver.
As of March 7, there’s been 49 applications. I hear that the city is aiming to get them approved within 12 weeks, so long as they follow the city's templates.
That's a decent start, although of course adopting the provincial guidelines would make more projects viable. On a 33x122 lot, the city allows a four-plex with 1000 square feet per unit. Under the provincial guidelines, if the lot is within 400 m (a five-minute walk) of a frequent transit stop, a six-plex would be allowed with 1200 square feet per unit, making better use of the limited land that we have.

Interesting coming back to this a year later, now there's ~340 applications on the tracker. So about 300 more since you posted which comes out to about 0.75 per day. That can add up to a lot if the pace keeps up or improves over the years.
How do you build six 1200 square foot units on a 33’ X 122’ lot? What are the set backs and can you have an underground parkade? How many floors can you have 3 or 4?
