Wow, sad to see that the leading candidate has nothing to propose to fix the housing crisis. What a world we live in.

I hear that she realizes she needs a pro-housing policy. But since she's currently mayor of Mississauga, I'm not sure what that's going to look like.

Fair point, she’s in a bind. If she goes all in for fixing housing and fails to win the nomination, she may lose popularity as the mayor. If she wins the nomination and then loses the election, as problematic for returning / continuing as mayor.

I think what it boils down to is, the housing policy that's appropriate for the mayor of Mississauga (which presumably includes not inducing NIMBY backlash) is going to be quite different from the policy that's appropriate for the provincial government (which bears a lot of responsibility for fixing the overall housing shortage, even if that means overriding hyperlocal opposition).
