Actually kinda skimmed that, since I need zero convincing that greater supply brings down prices.

Yes, yes, Say's Law says that supply creates demand, and highways and hard disks always fill up. But Say's is not some universal. Ghost towns still become ghost towns, railways and roads are abandoned all the time. And my 10-year-old hard disk is full...ish, but a little pruning every month has held it there for years.

If Vancouver real estate actually fell down to the cost in Swift Current, yeah, it would encourage more arrivals. As long as it is higher than most other choices, it could go down a long way without encouraging anything but less homelessness.
