I wonder if you could take this data and compare it to the age of buildings too... I'm looking at the west end and the lack of growth there.

Thanks to you, I have been steadily developing a negative gut reaction to single family zoning... I'm sure there is a good reason to have some, but man do I ever want to say apartments for everyone, sewers be damned.

Jens von Bergmann has a ton of data. Here's the West End, shown by building age - newer buildings are shown in brighter colours. https://mountainmath.ca/map/assessment?zoom=15&lat=49.2834&lng=-123.1295&layer=7&mapBase=2

I think it'd be good to allow six-storey apartments within walking distance of a SkyTrain station, at least (as New Zealand has done). I do want to write up a post summarizing what we know about the need for sewer upgrades: if it's a serious constraint on infill housing, we should have a better understanding of what's involved.

Okay, Have to go on a tangent and point out the FSR filter on that map, says so much! The city should look like the hill south of Kits beach - Lovely neighborhood that I can't imagine people having gripes with

That would be very interesting - I know the major infrastructure is built and upgraded based on future population projections, so if those are accurate I imagine it comes down to last mile sort of restraints
