This was a crazy waste of time! So many people not understanding what social housing is, and/or being mislead by Brian Palmquist and the Kitsilano Coalition who tried to equate it to a SRO. Fearmongering at it's worst.
With a strong ABC majority this term, making decisions more predictable, perhaps there'll be less of an arms-race dynamic where both supporters and opponents are trying to make sure they're not outnumbered, resulting in the public hearing being extended indefinitely. It's hard to see how council could have reasonably turned down $64 million in funding for badly needed social housing.
