• January 1 - Edmonton’s new Bylaw and Zoning Map takes effect

• End of January - Vancouver city council considers Jericho Lands policy statement

• Spring - federal budget (2023 budget was released March 28)

• June 30 - deadline for BC municipalities to update bylaws for multiplexes and transit-oriented development

• July - international students arrive

• Fall - BC election (previous election was October 24, 2020)

• November 5 - US election (expected to be Biden vs. Trump)

• December 31 - first phase of Metro Vancouver development charge increases
