"Prohibiting new housing is a prized luxury amenity"

Prohibiting new housing is one of the most prized luxury amenities a local government can provide, and they mostly provide it to their highest income residents.
Stagnation is an expensive luxury, one that we can no longer afford. In a Leger poll of Vancouverites in December, only 14% chose “maintain existing low-density character, even if that limits growth.” 47% chose “spread growth more evenly in 4-6 storey buildings across neighbourhoods.”
