Our next Housing Happy Hour will be Tuesday July 16, at Portland Craft. It’s an informal get-together for people who are concerned about housing in Metro Vancouver. Why is it so scarce and expensive? (*) What can we do about it?
When: Tuesday July 16, 7 to 9 pm
Where: Portland Craft, 3835 Main Street (Main at 23rd)
If you’re interested (even if you’re not sure you’ll be able to make it), please email me (russilwvong@gmail.com), so that we can give the pub a rough idea of how many people are coming.

(*) Short answer: people want to live and work here, and other people want to build housing for them, but we make it really difficult. We regulate new housing like it’s a nuclear power plant, and we tax it like it’s a gold mine.
